Our Nourished Baby horn spoons are much more than just eating utensils – they are a statement for naturalness, sustainability and traditional craftsmanship.
Each spoon is lovingly handcrafted in a small Austrian factory from genuine cow horn—a precious natural material with a fascinating variety of colors. Your spoon is unique—and will arrive as a lovely surprise.
Horn has been a valued material for centuries: durable, lightweight, food-safe – and completely natural.
The horn spoon is neither heated, glued, nor chemically treated. The surface remains smooth, gentle on baby's delicate skin, and is ideal for the first introduction of complementary foods.
Unlike plastic or silicone, horn is free of plasticizers, dyes, adhesives, or toxic coatings – and is manufactured according to the nose-to-tail principle: The horn comes from responsible animal husbandry and is processed with respect as a valuable, often unused part. This creates a sustainable product that combines tradition, craftsmanship, and naturalness.
The ergonomic shape was developed by us together with experienced craftsmen especially for small baby hands and first attempts at eating – comfortable to hold, secure to grip.
With the fine engraving “nourished baby” , each spoon becomes a loving everyday companion.
Our spoons are made in Austria's only remaining horn factory – a traditional family business that has been passing on its knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation for over 160 years.
Horn is a living material – it wants to be cared for:
With a little care, your spoon will remain beautiful for many years – and can even be kept as a keepsake.
Because it's a purely natural product, the color and grain vary from individual spoons —from soft cream to deep honey brown or black. Color selection isn't possible; each spoon is a surprise from nature.
